Hello to my lovely Vogue family!
As the New Year is here I wanted to do a very different post for you girlies, since many of you have been asking me to style ethnic wear.
So I decided to take my regular fashion to Bollywood fanfare and glitz level. Here is to the Indian wear trend that I styled from absolutely four different pieces from my wardrobe. I am pretty sure this style will never expire because it’s a perfect blend of western and Indian sensibility.
It’s something that will make you feel like a modern princess with very less effort. So picked up this auroral pastel green skirt with a beautiful flair from Bollywoo.com where they have selected outfits which are licensed/copyrighted Bollywood movie products to choose from. Isn’t it exciting? You can actually shop the screen. So I selected my skirt from the song Dheere Dheere se by Honey Singh, Sonam Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan. The quality of the skirt is great as it is 100 percent cotton with a side zipper with a perfect fit. I am wearing size M. This super-sized skirt celebrates liveliness and had me twirling all day long.
The second item I picked is the blouse which was the best investment I made back in the years. Third is my pastel pista green dupatta and pink drape which I found in my mom’s wardrobe. Pastel candy colors can not only beat the heat but also makes you attractive. She has a huge collection of dupattas and I am so glad about it as they help me take the Indian attire to another level.
So to add a Punjabi touch to my silhouette I added a beautiful handcrafted jutti from handcraftedbyadah with ghungroo on the top. It blended perfectly with the whole look as I chose the beige gold color which almost matches with everything. It’s super comfy unlike other juttis I felt very easy walking with it as I am not quite use to wearing it. I loved the comfort level it gave me. They have a wide range to choose from also the prices are affordable compared to the quality they offer. It’s a thumb up from my side.
This look will definitely rule the charts in 2017. The pieces that I mixed together are unique, exotic and apt for any Indian function or evening cocktail. You can also mix and match western and Indian pieces to create a glorious look especially taking ideas from our beloved Bollywood movies. Some outfits are seriously fashion goals.
No matter how much westernized we get with time, we still feel like wearing beautiful Indian looks from time to time as they connect to us with our roots. I definitely feel the charm and grace within me having worn this look. I hope you girls enjoyed this evergreen style post. Comment below your suggestions and ideas for next posts.
Lots of love
